“Teachers are the torch bearers of the Gen-next”
To mark the great teacher and Philosphyist, Dr. Saravapalli Radhakrishan ‘s Birthday, teacher Day was observed and celebrated at Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School, Sahnewal with gaiety and enthusiasm on 5th September, 2019. Both the students and the staff of the school gathered joyfully for celebration. The function commenced with seeking blessing’s from God with a special prayer service followed by a grand reception with a welcome song. It was followed by floral felicitation to the Principal. Student volunteers presented flowers to all the teachers as a token of their love & respect.
A variety of entertainment programmers were organised under the leadership of Head Boy and head Girl of the school. Acknowledging their love and gratitude towards their gurus, students conducted amazing games for them. The campus was abuzz with activities. A cake cutting ceremony was held in honour of teachers. The performance of students on stage exclusively for teachers was a memorable one. They also delivered felicitation and inspiring speeches extending their gratitude for being a philosopher and guide in their lives. They acknowledged the sincere efforts and hard work the teachers put in for their development.
The Principal Sr. Crispin Maria in her address highlighted the worth of a teacher in a student’s life. She advised the students to pay their respect to their teachers. It was her firm conviction that wisdom, happiness and peace, will prevail if teachers and students interact with each other with the spirit of oneness. She affirmed that a teacher not only disseminates knowledge but also her entire personality. In the end , the teachers appreciated and thanked the management & students to make their day the special one.
