Sacred Heart Convent Sr. Sec. School, Sahnewal organized a Vidyarambham Ceremony, the formal opening of the academic year 2019-20 with great zest and fervor. The function was presided over by Rev. Fr.Felix Shergil the Director of Sacred Heart Convent Sr.Sec. School- Samrala as the Chief Guest of the Day . He was welcomed & escorted by Rev. Fr. William Sahota the Director of school, Rev Sr. Crispin Maria, the Principal along with the School cabinet. The function commenced with the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries. Sacred Heart family extended a warm welcome to the parents and the tiny tots who became a part of the institution.
As a mark of surrendering all the endeavors in the hands of God, a special Prayer Service was conducted led by the school director Rev.Fr. William Sahota. He captivated the audience with couplets and verse from the Holy Bible. With folded hands every one present sought the blessings of the Almighty. The School Choir melodiously sang beautiful hymns invoking the Almighty to pour out His spirit upon the Sacred Heart Fraternity. Mrs. Nidhi Kapila & Miss Shewta, the staff representatives offered special intercessory prayers seeking the blessings of the Almighty. In his Presidential address Rev. Fr . Fr. Felix Shergil emphasized the need to cultivate moral and spiritual values in children introducing the Motto for the Year– ““Remember Yesterday, Dream for Tomorrow, Live for Today “ and the Value to be practiced for the year –“Admire and Value TIME” . He appreciated the efforts of the school management, staff and students. He motivated the parents and the school management to come together for the harmonious development of children.
The tiny tots and their parents were entertained by the variety cultural programmes presented by the Students of Kindergarten wing. The staff Coordinator Mrs. Navdeep Kaur introduced the parents with the school’s rules and regulations, after which the little kids were led to the world of letters by writing the first letter in a tray of rice grains in the name of God. The program was entailed by lighting the candles as a symbol of auspicious beginning of children’s educational journey. The ceremony winded up with great smiles and shine in the eyes of parents and children.
